Resume examples by role

The strongest resumes look different per role — a developer leads with GitHub, a designer with a portfolio, a government applicant with formal credentials. Here is the model structure for each.

Software developer

Header with GitHub link · summary naming your stack · skills grouped (Languages / Frameworks / Tools) · 2–3 projects with links and metrics ("Built a REST API handling 1k req/min") · internships · DSA credentials (LeetCode/CodeChef rank if strong). Template: Developer.

Data analyst / data scientist

Lead with a metrics-heavy summary ("built dashboards used by 1,200 students") · skills: SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau, statistics · projects framed as business questions answered, each with data size and outcome · certifications (Google Data Analytics). Template: Data Scientist.

UI/UX designer

Portfolio link in the header — it does the heavy lifting · summary naming design tools and one shipped result · projects as case studies ("Redesigned college fest app; task completion up 30% in usability tests") · skills: Figma, wireframing, user research. Template: Designer.

Marketing / business

Numbers rule: followers grown, leads generated, events filled, budgets handled · skills: SEO, Google Analytics, campaign tools, Excel · leadership positions presented with outcomes, not titles. Template: Marketing or Business Analyst.

Government / PSU applicant

Formal single-column layout, Times/Georgia font · complete education table with percentages (they matter here) · certifications and exam scores prominent · sober language, complete sentences, no slang or emphasis tricks. Template: Government.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same resume for every role?

Use the same base, but re-order sections and swap keywords per role. The JD matcher shows exactly which words each application is missing.

Where can I get these as editable templates?

All 18 role and style templates are free in the TechNaukary builder — no watermark, PDF/DOCX export included.

Do examples with fake numbers hurt?

Never invent numbers. Estimates of real outcomes ("~300 users") are fine; fabrications surface in interviews and reference checks.

Put it into practice
